This 1842 build protestant church wa increasingly used for light and symphonic music. For Sinfonia Rotterdam it was the main venue. It has a shoe-box shape and an excellent sounding reverberation. However, unoccupied and with medium occupancy the reverberation time is far too long. For some performances even with full occupancy the reverberation time is still too long. Also the speech intelligibility suffers from this long reverberation time. An investigation has been carried out and in the coming years measures will taken to control the acoustics of this church while maintaining the beautiful architecture. At concerts on-hand consultancy was provided in order to create the optimum set-up for musicians and/or playing conditions.
